LOCAL H: Announce 'Here Comes the Zoo' 20th Anniversary Edition, Share "Hands on the Bible (Live from '02)" Video

Iconic rock'n'roll outfit Local H is back with the announcement of the Here Comes The Zoo 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition coming this Fall on 2xLP / Cassette / CD / VHS via Brutal Panda Records. With this release, the band's fourth studio album (originally released March 2002 via Palm Pictures) will available for the first time EVER on limited edition vinyl and cassette. Additionally, the 20th anniversary edition double vinyl is packaged in a gorgeous gatefold jacket with new artwork and contains the never-before-heard "Jack Douglas" mixes on Side D.

Alongside the physical musical release, the deluxe edition also includes a special VHS pressing of Local H's There Went The Zoo: Live @ The Vic 5/4/02, made available in limited quantities. Today, the band has shared a snippet of the VHS film, an archival live video for "Hands on the Bible" as performed 20 years ago during their stop at The Vic on the There Went the Zoo Tour.

Speaking on the 20th anniversary of Here Comes The Zoo, guitarist Scott Lucas wrote:

"In a lot of ways, this was the toughest record we ever had to make. We were at a real turning and it wasn’t just a record that would determine the future of the band — it was the record that would determine whether or not Local H was going to even have a future.

We had just worked with Roy Thomas Baker on PACK UP THE CATS — so getting another producing legend was not in the plan. Then we found out Jack Douglas was interested. So what could we do? He’s the man. We had no choice but to go with him."

Here Comes The Zoo 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition 2xLPs are set for a late 2022 / early 2023 release date while cassettes and VHS will ship in late November. Pre-Orders for all formats are available HERE

Local H - "Hands on the Bible" Live @ The Vic - 5/4/02 (Official Live Video)
This past weekend, Local H kicked off the Here Comes The Zoo 20th Anniversary Tour in celebration of the storied record and in conjunction with the anniversary release.

Local H remain as prolific and hungry as ever three decades into their perennially loud career. Shortly after the release of their critically acclaimed, Steve Albini produced album Lifers in 2020, the world changed forever with the onset of the global pandemic. After facing tour cancellations around the world, Local H became one of a handful of trailblazing acts to formulate and embrace the drive-in experience, producing multiple sold out shows across the midwest, in addition to their massively successful live concert events streamed from their rehearsal space.

Tickets and more information for Local H's upcoming tour can be found HERE.

Local H Bio:

Unlike so many of their peers from the 90s, Local H have refused to slow down. Since the band’s formation in 1990, they have released 8 studio albums, countless EPs and live records, a well-received series of “Mix Tapes” featuring a surprising mix of cover songs, and a steady stream of memorable singles that include "Eddie Vedder," "Hands On The Bible," "California Songs," and the rock radio staple “Bound For The Floor.” In addition to all of that, guitarist/vocalist Scott Lucas and drummer Ryan Harding have maintained a near constant international touring schedule — forging a blistering live show that has amassed a loyal and enthusiastic fan base.
